Synge Maher (Artistic Director). A Denver, Colorado native, is a critically acclaimed theatre maker grateful to be working in both NYC and around the country. Her first love acting has given her the opportunity to play a rapping Kate in a modern adaptation of Taming of the Shrew, a little French Inspector in Montserrat Mendez’s Thoroughly Stupid Things and both Captain Hook and Mrs. Darling in Peter Pan to a glowing NY Times review. As a director, her work has been seen across the country in several touring productions for The Hampstead Stage Company, Pioneer Playhouse, Northpoint Training Center and at several esteemed NYC houses.
On a contract in Danville, Kentucky working for Pioneer, Synge volunteered as an actor for inmate penned plays at Northpoint with the program Voices Inside. While there, Synge was inspired by the stories, talent and unique voices of these men to bring their plays to a wider audience. This is where Voices Inside/Out began.
